Champion Section A, B & Half Welsh

Hallmark Welsh rests on the foundation of a life long fascination for everything related to and involving horses and ponies. The science of breeding and the sport and art of showing have been a particular interest over the past 40 years. Hallmark purchased its first pony in 1980, a fancy little half Welsh with Bengad breeding. The McClelland children had various ponies to ride and show as they grew, each with its own endearing personality. The main focus during these years was 4-H and Pony Club. Hallmark became very serious about dedicating its efforts to the Welsh and decided to establish a herd of breeding and show ponies in 1998. These ponies were purchased, shown and bred in a partnership under the Storyland prefix. They were shown to many halter wins with numerous Championships awarded. The successive foal crops were very exciting and the proof of success for the fledgling breeding program was in the numerous show ring wins in hand.

In 2003, Brian and Shealagh McClelland took over the breeding and showing of the ponies exclusively under the Hallmark prefix. We look forward to many more years of dedication to the wonderful Welsh breed. The ponies are located in the beautiful Parkland region of Central Alberta. Visitors are always welcome and we would invite anyone traveling in our area to be in touch with us for a visit.
